Most important read of your life
How often do you wonder what you’re eating or where it’s coming from? I mean realistically. Up until about a year ago this thought never once crossed my mind, not for one second. I had complete trust in the companies and strangers who were harvesting, processing, and handling my food. I grew up with the same learned concept of healthy eating based on education of the Food pyramid, the FDA and the USDA. In addition, what I was allowed to eat for instance in the cafeteria’s, all the way through my schooling, even through my 5 years in the Marine Corps. With this being said how would I know what really is good for me? Or what makes me feel good when I’ve never had the knowledge, luxury or confidence to venture out? And what I mean by this is that we have all been covered with a blanket statement. That you need “ 45-65%” of your daily intake to be carbs or that “fat is bad” or pure protein diets, Paleo, the warrior diet, Atkins, Carb loading and so on. But are these mountains of diet statements true? Maybe for some, but just like a snowflake we are as unique as we are complex from one another. Our community of fellow American’s is 1/3 obese 1/3 overweight, what is the rest? And the sad part is that in the near future we are going to be seeing the first obese people starving to death. We eat and we eat but we don’t think about what the outcome is down the road with these nutrient and vitamin deficient foods. Take charge of your life and learn to enjoy it again. I know many of you have an old family photo or a picture on the wall of who you used to be. Your still right there you just haven’t been taught and informed on ways to change. So with an open mind click on some links below, explore some new options and give strength to the community providers around you.
